It’s quick and easy to throw this gift together – even last minute! Take note of your dad’s favorite cut(s) of meat, head to the butcher and print my free printable ‘A Cut Above’ gift tag for easy gift wrapping. That’s really all it takes to make the perfect gift for Father’s Day for the carnivore in your life.

The Perfect Gift for the Hard to Shop for Dad

Is your dad super hard to shop for?

Yeah, I thought so. Mine is too!

Seriously, every year struggle to come up with a thoughtful gift for my dad and my husband. They are very much the same…

Both guys are not really gadget people, don’t get overly excited about gifts and always say spending time with their family (with maybe a beer in-hand) is gift enough for Father’s Day.

As if I’d let that stop me! Heck no!

So this year I think I have just the thing. Don’t get scared by it’s name. I have no other way to describe it than just calling it what it is: a meat box.

Yes, I said ‘Meat Box’

I admit, it’s not the most glamorous name for a gift. It’s a bit, well, bizarre. But I promise it won’t disappoint, so stay with me here.

By ‘Meat Box’ I mean just that – a good ol’ box full of meat.

Here’s what you’ll need to do:

supplies you'll need for making a meat themed gift

(1) Head to your local butcher and select the cuts of meat your dad prefers, (2) wrap each tightly in butcher paper, (3) tie either of my free gift tags (there is one for beef and one for pork – see downloads below) on to each bundle using cotton twine (you’ll want to label it with the type of meat and the date), (4) pack all of your wrapped meat in a box for easy gift-giving. If needed, use some shredded filler to securely pack the meat and the same cotton twine to tie the box shut

LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Be sure to store the assembled box in the fridge until Father’s Day!

Grilling Themed Father’s Day Gift Accessories

I’m also thinking of accompanying the meat box with some grilling accessories. Need some ideas? Check out my personal favorite grilling accessories – ones that I’ve given in the past and were well received:
