As you know, at this point we are all short on time, so without further delay…

While I was running around making this last minute teacher gift, I couldn’t help but think about other ways I can use this gift for future teachers. So instead of making one mason jar lid cover and leaving it at that, I went ahead and made … four.

Now I can use the same tea-themed concept for a gift for other teachers down the road. And maybe instead of giving this gift on the first day of school, I can use it for the first day of summer break or during teacher appreciation week or simply ‘just because‘.

And because you know I can’t keep these gift ideas to myself, I’ve included all four mason jar lid variations in one download.

The four lid covers say:

>> Excited to have you as my tea-cher! <<

<< Thanks a latte >>

>> Have a tea-riffic first day <<

<< Have a tea-riffic summer >>

Let me know which is your favorite and which you plan to use! I’d love your thoughts!

So like I said, I was running short on time and trying to pull this gift together last minute, so I opted to use a store-bought chai latte mix. It just so happens that I love Caffe D’Vita brand iced coffee mix after randomly purchasing some from Costco and making these iced coffee gifts.

So when I saw their Chai Tea Latte mix on Amazon, I jumped on it (and thanked my lucky stars that it came with 2-day shipping at the time!)

So once your Chai Tea Latte mix is delivered in that lovely Amazon box, crack it open and pour it in a standard 16 oz. Ball mason jar. Add my free printable lid cover and directions gift tag, and you’ve got yourself a cute little gift in a matter of minutes!

I realize you may love this tea-themed gift idea, but maybe you need a personalized mason jar lid cover. (Like say, you don’t plan to give this as a teacher gift.)

No worries! Use my easy Word tutorial to create your own for any occasion. Here’s how I did it:

STEP 1: MEASURE THE DIAMETER OF YOUR MASON JAR LID

For this gift, I measured the mouth of a standard mouth 16 oz. mason jar. For this size, the jar has a 3″ mouth. I made the lid covers slightly smaller so they fit easily between the metal lid and the screw-on ring.

For example purposes, the jar’s diameter is 2.7″.

STEP 2: CREATE IN WORD V.10

Open up a new Word document and insert a circle by going to the Insert tab and add select a circle from the drop-down menu.

Right click on the circle and select More Layout Options…

Select the Size Tab and change the Absolute Value under both Height and Width to 2.7″.

Next, add your text. For my lid covers, I used a combination of Sanchez and Misses fonts*. If you do not have these fonts (they don’t come standard), you can download them from dafont.com.

*Always double-check the licensing for the fonts you download. I am using this font for personal use and will not be selling these personalized items for profit.

STEP 3: PRINT, CUT AND ADD TO YOUR MASON JAR

That’s really all there is to it! Print them, cut them out and sandwich them between the metal lid and the screw-on ring.
