St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Treat Bags & Free Gift Tag Printables

Help wee ones celebrate the ‘Luck of the Irish’ with these adorable St. Patrick’s Day rainbow treat bags.
Joy! Pure joy! That’s what I love most about gift giving, especially when it comes to celebrating holidays that aren’t typically associated with presents.
When you think of St. Patrick’s Day, I’m willing to bet the first things that come to mind are green beer, leprechauns, and maybe even four-leaf clovers.
I realize “presents, treats and gifts” don’t usually land on that list. But over the years, I’ve come to love celebrating holidays that don’t typically fall into the category of “gifting holidays.” St. Patrick’s Day isn’t usually celebrated by exchanging gifts, but I love the joy elicited when you do give a small gift for this holiday.

Festive St. Patrick’s Day Treats
In the past, I’ve shared festive St. Patrick’s gifts like custom t-shirts and DIY St. Patrick’s Day party decor like my “End of the Rainbow” pot of gold decorations.
But this year, I’m opting for these simple St. Patrick’s Day rainbow treat bags instead. I can’t wait to see the look on my kids’ faces when I give them these treats. They won’t be expecting a thing!
Any time I can help my kids celebrate one of my favorite holidays in a simple, unpretentious way, I do a little happy dance.

For these super simple (yet totally adorable) St. Patrick’s Day rainbow treat bags, you’ll need to…
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

- Individual watercolor sets (I found mine at the Dollar Tree)
- Cellophane bags with twist ties
- Decorative ribbon
- Gold-wrapped candies (I used Creamy Caramel-filled Werther’s Originals, Rolos, chocolate gold coins and Ferrero Rocher)
- White shredded paper (I usually find mine at the Dollar Tree.)
- Scissors or paper cutter
- Hole punch
- Home printer
- White card stock
- My free St. Patrick’s Day gift tag printables
Step 2: Assemble Your Treat Bags

Place the gold-wrapped candy in the bottom of each cellophane bag. I used chocolate coins wrapped in gold paper, Rolos, Werther’s Originals, and Ferrero Rocher. You could also use Reese’s miniature cups or mini Twix candies, since both are wrapped in shiny gold paper.
Next, add a handful of the shredded white paper to represent a cloud and then nestle in the watercolor set.
Then, tie each bag with a twist-tie to secure the opening.
Step 3: Download & Print My Free Gift Tags
Now, you’ll want to download and print the desired amount of my Free Rainbow Gift Tags.

I made two different versions of this free St. Patrick’s Day gift tag:
- Lucky to have a FRIEND like you – Add this gift tag for a quick treat for classmates, neighbors, and teammates.
- Lucky to have a KID like you – Choose this gift tag as the finishing touch for a little something special to help your child celebrate St. Patrick’s Day
Once you’ve downloaded the tags you want to use, print them to white cardstock. There are 8 tags per page, regardless of which tag you choose.
Step 4: Trim Each Tag & Attach
Grab a sharp pair of scissors or a paper cutter and slice away! If you are making this gift tag for treats for friends, your kids can definitely get involved at this point!
Next, grab your hole punch and go to town.

Cover the twist tie you used to secure your bags with a decorative ribbon with your gift tag laced through.
And Voilà! Your adorable little gift is ready to share!
